The Greenbrier Companies is an American publicly traded transportation manufacturing corporation based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, United States. Greenbrier specializes in transportation services, notably barge and railroad car manufacturing, railroad car refurbishment, and railroad car leasing/management services. Through its primary Manufacturing segment, Greenbrier produces hopper cars; intermodal and conventional railcars; centre-partition, flat, and tank cars; and large, ocean-going marine vessels. Its Wheels, Repair & Parts segment provides wheel and axle services and offers railcar repair, refurbishment, and parts for its railcars. Its Leasing & Services unit manages a fleet of about 9,400 railcars. The US market generates most of its revenue.
