Qorvo is an American semiconductor company that designs, manufactures, and supplies radio-frequency systems for applications that drive wireless and broadband communications, as well as foundry services. Its products are made for mobile devices (from phones to cell towers), infrastructure applications (smart meters and Wi-Fi base stations), and aerospace and defence systems (radar and satellites). It serves major cellphone manufacturers such as Apple, Qorvo’s largest customer, and Huawei with 4G and 5G antennas and other communication equipment. Unlike many other chip companies, Qorvo operates its own foundry where RF devices can be made to specifications. It has operations in the US, Costa Rica, China, and Germany. Qorvo was formed in 2015 via the merger of RF Micro Devices and TriQuint. The US is the largest geographic market where almost half of the company’s sales came from.
