Green Plains Inc. is an American company based in Omaha, Nebraska. Green Plains Inc turns corn into ethanol at facilities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Tennessee, and Texas. The company has an annual ethanol production capacity of 1.1 billion gallons, primarily used as an auto fuel. It also sells ethanol produced by different types of grains. Co-products of the ethanol production process are also a valuable revenue source for the company. It produces about 2.9 million tons of animal feed known as distiller grains, the primary co-product of ethanol production, as well as about 300 million pounds of corn oil, sold to biodiesel manufacturers and feedlot markets.
